Another edible birdcage and wedding cake
Today saw the successful delivery of another wedding cake. This time is was to The Westley Hotel, in Acocks Green, Birmingham. The rooms was beautifully decorated in a fuschia colour scheme, which of course the cake matched, with handmade edible roses and ribbon trim. The middle tier was decorated with edible lace, which I made using Sweet Lace and a home made lace mould.
In addition to the cake, a handmade edible birdcage was also ordered to sit proudly on the top table.
This is the second edible birdcage that I have had the pleasure of making, so I took the opportunity to take photographs at every stage, from start to finish, so hopefully once I have organised the pictures, it will result in a tutorial so you can try your hand at making one yourself.

It was made completely by trial and error as I had no tutorial to work from and required a lot of patience and a very steady hand. After about 3 months of pulling my hair out (and a lot of breakages) it was finally complete.
